1. What stays on your Mac
Unspoken Room performs model inference with a local GGUF model, speech recognition with local Parakeet, and voice generation with local Kokoro. The microphone stream, recognized words, typed text, system prompt, model response, and generated speech are processed locally. None of that conversation content is sent to Walter Claw Software or a cloud AI provider.
Conversation history, settings, model selections, and content-free diagnostic events are stored locally in the app’s macOS container. Short-lived audio files used for playback are local working files.
2. Optional Hugging Face model requests
The included model needs no network connection. If you choose to search for or download another GGUF model, Unspoken Room connects directly to Hugging Face. That request can include your model-search terms, requested repository and filename, and ordinary connection information such as your IP address. It does not include your conversation, transcript, prompt, audio, or model response.
Hugging Face processes those requests under its own privacy policy. You can avoid this connection entirely by using the included model or importing a GGUF you already possess.
3. Local and downloaded models
Models downloaded in the app are stored in Unspoken Room’s own model library. When you use Import Local GGUF…, macOS grants the app read-only access to the file you selected. The app stores a local security-scoped bookmark so it can reopen that model later. The model remains where you placed it, and its contents are not uploaded to Walter Claw Software.
Models come from independent publishers and may have their own licenses, behavior, and risks. Walter Claw Software does not receive or moderate their responses.
4. Diagnostic telemetry
Unspoken Room keeps a local diagnostic log for timing, component readiness, and failure categories. It is designed not to contain transcript text or recorded audio, and it is not transmitted automatically. Clear Transcript… removes conversation text and related local conversation artifacts while leaving the separate diagnostic history available for troubleshooting. Clear Diagnostic Telemetry… removes that local diagnostic history separately.
5. Data Walter Claw Software receives
The app has no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking SDK, automatic crash-reporting service, cloud transcript store, or Unspoken Room account system. Walter Claw Software receives no app data automatically.
If you contact support, we receive the email address and information you choose to send. Please do not send a transcript, prompt, model response, or audio recording unless you deliberately decide it is necessary. Apple separately processes App Store purchases and downloads under Apple’s policies.
6. Website privacy
This website has no forms, advertising, analytics script, tracking pixel, or third-party font. Netlify serves the static files and may process standard web-request information as the hosting provider. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.
